Lead Designer of Teaching Knowledge Course - May ‘23

Designed for Southeast Asian teachers, our programme offers three distinct levels for novice educators: Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced. These levels equip teachers with essential pedagogical skills for English Language instruction in ESL settings. Additionally, the course incorporates two practicum modules, enabling teacher practitioners to apply their learning in a supportive environment.

Lead Author for IGCSE Stages 7, 8, 9, 10 ESL Curriculum - Sept ‘22

In her role as lead author, Monica meticulously crafted the teacher's guide, workbooks, and supplementary online materials to complement the Hodder Checkpoint Series. This curriculum is intentionally flexible for application in various settings. Embracing a thematic approach, Monica and her team prioritised diversity and inclusivity, particularly in topics like festivals, writers, and poetry. Their materials offer a different lens of exploring contemporary themes and issues.

Trainer and Keynote Speaker at Hin Hua High School Annual Symposium - August ‘23

Monica led this session as part of their annual symposium, in collaboration with nine other Chinese Independent High Schools. The focus was on 'Assessment for Learning,' acknowledging the intricacies of the new IGCSE curriculum. Participants engaged in interactive training enriched with authentic examples, specifically adapted to their unique context. Post-session, there was a panel discussion and attendees were encouraged to share their insights through poster presentations, highlighting their practical assessment strategies. This initiative ignites the momentum for continued exploration of related pedagogical approaches.
